We are collecting nighttime holiday gifts (i.e. pajamas, slippers, stuffed animals, story books, etc) for local children in need on behalf of Bergen County Social Services. Name tags are now available for pick up on this coming Sunday at the CSC desk for anyone who want to brighten a child’s holiday!!!! Drop off your gifts on 12/6 from 1-3 pm at the CSC desk.
Boys – 32 boys (sizes, child name and PJ size will be on the tag)
Girls-12 girls ((sizes, child name and PJ size will be on the tag)
Please note that these gifts should not be wrapped. The Bergen County of Social Services wraps all the gifts for the children. Please do not purchase any toys. Any PJ’s must be new. No used PJ’s for this particular Holiday Drive. The books and stuff animals can be preowned or lightly used, but please do not give any books that have writing/markings in them, ripped (cover or pages) or food stains. Please do not donate any stuff animals that looks like it needs life support, damaged, torn, smells with an odor or appears to need plastic surgery.
Ages for the kids ranges from infants to age 15. We are hoping that CSC/BCS families can volunteer with this annual county event to take all 44 tags this Sunday and return the unwrapped gift to the cafeteria on 12/6/15. Please note that you can give a book, PJ’s and stuff animal as one gift to a child or you can give each child in need one item ( a book, PJ’s or a stuff animal) whatever each family heart desires. The families that want to participate from the CSC/BCS community can also include a card or brief note/letter to the child name on the tag from your family. No contact info is needed, just a note of hope and inspiration during this season of giving. If a note is included with your donation gift, please do not reference anything about the family of child being poor. Thank you for your support and sensitivity knowing that families are indeed living in poverty all year around in this state and country.
