Emily is a sophomore at Princeton University where she is concentrating in Comparative Literature and pursuing certificates in East Asian Studies and American Studies. A former student of Bergen Chinese School, Emily continued her Chinese studies at Princeton and attended Princeton in Beijing last summer. On campus, Emily is the co Editor-in-Chief of The Stripes, Princeton’s first publication dedicated to issues of race, culture, and minority identity; a member of the committee for Asian American Studies; and a graphic designer for the Student Design Agency. She also serves as a staff writer for The Nassau Literary Review and as a member on the China Editorial Team of the Princeton Journal of East Asian Studies. In her spare time, Emily enjoys watching movies and television and reading.
A BCS student of over 10 years, Shani is now a third year undergraduate student at the George Washington University, where she is pursuing a double major in International Affairs and Peace Studies and minors in Sociocultural Anthropology and Fine Arts. She studied abroad in Nepal and India with a Tibetan studies program in Fall 2013, and remains involved in the Tibetan community though her work with Machik, a Tibetan organization in Washington D.C.
Wen-Chiao is a senior in high school and a student in BCS. He has been studying Chinese for 6 years. This year he is both a TA and a student in CSL6 class at BCS. Last year he went to Taiwan for the Taiwan Summer AID program.
Ruby Chen (王文蓮）is a BCS parent alumni. Her daughter and son graduated from BCS some years ago. Ruby had taught culture classes in BCS for a number of years.
Charles Shyy (史訓智）is a BCS parent with two sons attending CSL classes. Charles had served as Dean of Students for two years. He is the BCS principal from year 2012-2014.
Diane Dunleavy is a long-time BCS parent with a daughter currently attending CSL class. Diane is BCS PTA president since 2011-12 school year.
Chaopei Ting (丁兆佩）is a long-time BCS parent with two daughters currently attending CHL classes. Chaopei had taught language classes for a number of years; she is BCS academic dean this year.
Sharon is a long-time BCS parent. Her younger daughter attends CSL class now. Sharon has served the community in various roles: class mother, PTA president, (the old) CSC Summer Camp director, CSC Care committee chair, CSC Vice Chairperson and Chairperson. Last year Sharon co-founded MCCC, the re-imagined one-week sleep away summer camp. She is the chairperson of CSC USA this year.
琴老師 is a long-time BCS parent and volunteer. Among the many roles she had held were: BCS teacher, registrar, treasurer, advisor. Her son graduated from BCS two years ago and her daughter is currently working as a TA in BCS.
Renny Shih is a long-time BCS parent with a daughter currently attending CHL class. She is the CSC webmaster since Dec 2014.
